Application Fee
There is no application fee for any candidate. All applicants are required to fill out the online application form within the stipulated dates.

Note: For NCC Men, 63 vacancies are for general candidates and 7 for wards of battle casualties. For NCC Women, 5 vacancies are for general candidates and 1 for wards of battle casualties.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 19 to 25 years of age as of July 1, 2025. This means applicants should have been born between July 2, 2000, and July 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive).
3. Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- For NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders:
- Must have obtained a minimum of ‘B’ grade in the ‘C’ Certificate examination.
- The degree should be from a recognized university or equivalent.
- For Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel:
- A degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate is not required.
4. Marital Status:
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for this entry.
Selection Process
The selection procedure for the NCC Special Entry Scheme comprises the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications:
- The Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on the candidate’s academic performance and NCC credentials.
- SSB Interview:
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview, which is conducted in two stages:
- Stage I: Screening Test
- Stage II: Psychological Test, Group Testing Officers Tasks, and Interview
- Candidates who fail to qualify in Stage I will be returned on the same day.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview, which is conducted in two stages:
- Medical Examination:
- Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness for commission in the Indian Army.
- Merit List:
- A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB Interview, subject to medical fitness and the number of vacancies available.

Training and Commission
- Training Duration: Selected candidates will undergo 49 weeks of training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
- Commission: Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be granted a Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army in the rank of Lieutenant.
